ABOUT

Who we are

Grapevine is an independent arts and culture magazine publishing reviews, features and essays exploring contemporary culture.

Founded by students at the University of St Andrews, Grapevine began with a simple idea: to create a space for accessible writing about the things people watch, read and experience. Since then, it has grown into a publication bringing together emerging writers with a shared curiosity for culture in all its forms.

We publish film and theatre criticism, long-form features, opinion pieces and creative writing that aim to inform, challenge and start conversations. Whether we're reviewing a new production, exploring a cultural trend or sharing original creative work, we're interested in thoughtful storytelling and fresh perspectives.

At Grapevine, we believe great writing comes from curiosity rather than credentials. We're committed to giving emerging voices a platform while producing work that is engaging, insightful and enjoyable to read.
